In previous articles, you have seen how Iliad captures all the different components of a design process onto a single digital platform. In this week’s article, we look at how easy it is to integrate the different scripts and analysis inside Iliad workflows using our dedicated interfaces.
Let us consider a simple example; designing a cardboard box. To calculate the storage capacity, i.e., the Volume and the amount of material required, i.e., the surface area, a Matlab script is used.

To integrate this script, we use the dedicated Matlab component. It is configured by simply selecting the Matlab script. Next, all the variables used in the script are filled in the component table.

A Simulink model can also be used by calling it from a Matlab script. Once configured, we then place the Matlab component inside an optimization component or other design component and proceed as usual.
